Miceli & Sensat
Miceli & Sensat is an organic farming estate located in western Sicily, in a still unspoiled and pristine valley where the landscape retains an authentic and deeply Mediterranean character. The estate extends across 270 hectares, 115 of which are dedicated to olive groves, and lies at the heart of a project that brings together territorial identity, sustainability, and a contemporary vision of olive growing.
In our olive groves we cultivate six varieties — Nocellara del Belice, Biancolilla, Cerasuola, Picual, Arbequina, and Coratina — which allow us to express through our oils both the heritage of Sicilian olive cultivation and a dialogue with cultivars of Spanish origin that have found particularly favorable conditions in this territory. This varietal richness is one of the distinctive features of the estate and reflects a precise agricultural choice, guided by quality and the enhancement of the land.
Sustainability is one of the core principles of our work, understood as the responsible and forward-looking management of resources. The estate is equipped with a subsurface irrigation system that allows us to optimize water use, reducing waste and supporting the balanced growth of the trees. The property also includes two reservoirs, with a total capacity of around 300,000 cubic meters, which collect winter rainfall and make it available during the periods when the olive groves need it most.
At the heart of the estate is our on-site mill, which allows us to process the olives within no more than two or three hours of harvesting. This step is essential, because it makes it possible to transform healthy, intact fruit immediately, preserving its freshness, aromatic complexity, and quality. It is from this continuity between olive grove and mill, managed entirely within the estate, that the identity of our oils is born.
Miceli & Sensat is, above all, an agricultural project deeply rooted in Sicilian soil, where the care of the olive trees, respect for the landscape, and attention to every detail of daily work come together in a coherent, solid, and strongly distinctive reality.
